While UAVs are designed to operate independently, they still require protection, maintenance support, and operational infrastructure to ensure maximum availability and mission readiness, particularly in tactical and strategic operating environments.
The primary purpose of the UAV Shelter is to protect valuable aerial assets from environmental factors such as extreme temperatures, wind, rain, dust, and sand while providing a dedicated environment for deployment, inspection, maintenance, and mission preparation activities.
By protecting the aircraft and supporting equipment, the UAV Shelter contributes directly to improved operational reliability, increased aircraft availability, and reduced maintenance downtime.
Modular and Scalable Design
The UAV Shelter incorporates the same proven engineering principles found within BUSHTEC’s deployable shelter range but has been specifically adapted to accommodate unmanned aerial systems and their associated support equipment.
Current development efforts are focused on an 8-metre-wide configuration, which provides an optimal balance between transportability and usable workspace. However, the design philosophy allows for future expansion to widths of up to 16 metres, creating the capability to accommodate larger UAV platforms and more comprehensive support facilities.
